Wu Ching Ju - unbeatable prices
Born in Fonglin, Taiwan in the Autumn of 1961, Wu Ching Ju grew up surrounded by Chinese traditions and she continued these traditions long after leaving school with her favourite one being flower arranging. Meeting her husband at 22, they moved to Los Angeles in the US due to her husband's new job, after meeting with a family friend she was introduced to an artist who encouraged her to start drawing and painting while she taught people about Chinese culture.
Moving back to Taiwan in the 1980's, she became extensively well known all over the country for her flower arranging skills and eventually moved to Holland in 1993, beginning classes to learn other art techniques. At this point she learned how to sculpt and rapidly developed a passion for the medium. Ju's work is now distributed worldwide with a special attention to Europe for the vast numbers of collectors of her pieces. She now lives in Maastricht in the Netherlands with her two children and
husband.
Ju's works consist of fantasy depictions from a wide variety of tales in a wider variety of mediums, fairies, gods, demons, the naga, the sea-serpent, all are encompassed within Ju's works, bringing the tales to life. The forms of her subjects flow fluidly, creating a sense of movement within the piece and the colours compliment the movement with a mood and emotive side that the piece would
otherwise be without.
