Philip Stuttard - unbeatable prices
Philip Stuttard grew up with a creative passion, a passion to constantly draw and as a result, he spent much of his time whilst growing up looking for bits of paper to draw on. Given drawing equipment only for Christmas and on his Birthday, Stuttard was lucky when someone accidentally dropped a roll of wallpaper onto his lap, he subsequently used the reverse of the paper to draw on to his heart's content.
It suddenly stuck him at ten years old that he wanted to be a cartoonist after his talents were recognised in his primary school. Ten years later, Stuttard became a freelance cartoonist and regularly sent in his cartoons to The Daily Mail, he then moved south to specialise as an airbrush artist in London. Ten years later he settled back in
Yorkshire again and began sculpting his works, gradually settling back into painting once again.
Stuttards works focus on the humourous form, the 'cartoony' side of reality and pushes the proportions of human anatomy whilst retaining a foot in realism in the surrounding environments, the images are often drenched in monochrome but the main focus of the viewer is always brought back to that tiny bit of colour, found usually somewhere near the centre of the image.
