Kim Haskins - unbeatable prices
Kim Haskins was born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire in 1981. During her school life Haskins was reputed as the class's artist and growing up sketched and drew to her heart's content, drawing still life and humourous imagery as her primary subject matter. Developing a strong interest in language and culture she gained a First Class Degree in 2004 in Hispanic Studies at Queen Mary,
University of London. Spending a year living in Granada in Spain, Haskins returned to London and became a journalist, working for a variety of organisations and publishers including but not limited to the British Council, Youthnet, handbag.com and Sky.
Sketching and Painting in her spare time, Haskins didn't even think about selling her work until friends of her's and aquaintences of her father's noticed her work and commended her. Through the encouragement she resigned from her job and focused on her painting skills, her works rapidly began appearing in galleries and published prints all across the United Kingdom.
Using a spray brush type technique, Haskins paints humourous imagery in the forms of animals with vacant expressions and odd objects & food, causing a strange sense of suspense within her images as if the joke is about to occur or already has occured.
