John Swannell - unbeatable prices
John Swannell was born in 1946, working first at Vogue Studios as an assistant before
moving onto becoming David Bailey's assistant for four years and then setting up his own
studio. Since then he worked for a wide variety of magazines including but not limited to Vogue, the Sunday Times, Tatler and Harpers & Queen in which time he developed his own style.
After a plethora of invites to exhibit his works in many notable galleries, such as
Edinburgh's National Portrait Gallery and at the Royal Academy, he became one of the
younges members of the Royal Photographic Society to be awarded a fellowship. Later on in life, Princess Diana of Wales personally comissioned Swannell for a photographic shoot with her two sons. Swannell shortly followed this with an individual exhibition of his portrats in London's National Portrait Gallery to celebrate his book 'Twenty Years On' being published and held in the gallery's archives.
Photographing multiple members of the British Royal Family and a huge variety of celebrities from all professions and disciplines, many of Swannell's works are
exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London and Edinburgh, the V&A, the Royal
Photographic Society and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Other notable commissions
include but are not limited to photographs for the cover of Tony and Cherie Blair's book
and many promotional photoshoots for multiple top West End theatrical productions.
