Steve Johnston - unbeatable prices
Born in Glasgow in 1956 and growing up in Dumfries, Steve Johnston began training to become an electrician right after leaving school but was went to study Art in a college in Carlisle. Preferring Photography, Johnston changed his medium after the first year and after completing his course, he moved to work in London and worked for a variety of magazines over the following years, in 1991 he began painting as a full-time artist and joined the publisher Washington Green in 2004.
Johnstons works are like a memory, the key details are captured in brilliant sharpness while the surrounding details are blurred and
distorted, his art consists of usually a pencil-drawing-style subject as the focal piece, with a blurred background, the colours in place simply to infer the environment and reinstate the quality of memory.
