Born at the end of the WWII in Twickenham, Middlesex, Peter Hildick grew up drawing with a passion. He rapidly developed his techniques during primary school with the encouragement and support of his family. His family shortly moved to Bath, Somerset, when Hildick was eight and he developed a love for the wildlife in the surrounding region.

During his secondary school, Hildick was discouraged by his school from drawing and was told to concentrate his efforts into painting, this cut short his creative streak and apart from producing the rare drawing for friends or family members, he abandoned his artwork.

Upon finishing school, Hildick began a career in the Royal Navy and rose up through the ranks to Chief Petty Officer, it was here that his passion for drawing resurfaced and he began exhibiting his works in the P.A.W.S Competitions in 1991 & 1992 after being encouraged by his friends and wife, he also submitted twin entries in drawn and
watercolours to the P.A.W.S Competition in 1993 and both were successful and were exhibited, marking the first time a single artist had been successful with more than one entry, a specially designed award was given for Hildick's pencil drawing.

He submitted another pencil drawing in 1994 'Baby Love' and the drawing won the Chaffin Award for Best Monochrome Picture and the North Light Trophy for Overall Winner of the P.A.W.S 1994 Competition. After these repeated successes, Hildick began placing even more emphasis on his original passion, his drawing. No Artworks Exists
